Beach/Marina Security Alert THE PARK AND MARINA CLOSE AT 11:00pm. THIS MEANS THAT NO-ONE, INCLUDING MEMBERS, IS TO BE IN THESE AREAS AFTER THESE TIMES. THE GATES WILL BE LOCKED. PARENTS--Please emphasize to your children that this is a serious matter, even if they intend it to be a prank. The same goes for any mischief at the Marina, Beach, Clubhouse, or any community property of GFCACA.
Based on reports of events Sunday night (Feb. 14) and review of the Beach/Marina security gate log, we have determined that a code has been compromised and was being used by a small group of young guys in 4WD/trucks. The code has been disabled and will no longer grant them access. As a result, it is likely they will return some other time in the future to discover they cannot get in, which may lead them to more bad behavior/attempts to access anyway/vandalism. The Laniers report that someone drove through their yard (tire tracks in the snow) to get into the marina, breaking two small trees in the process.
James City County Police have been notified and are aware.
So, this is just to alert you to that fact, and ask that if you observe anything like this, please contact the James City County law enforcement at 911.
CALL 566-0112 IF YOU SEE ANY SUSPICIOUS PERSON OR ACTIVITY WHICH IS IN PROGRESS. THIS IS THE POLICE NON-EMERGENCY LINE. DO NOT CONFRONT THE PERSON(S) YOURSELF. LET THE OFFICERS HANDLE THE SITUATION.
THE POOL IS alarmed. ANY entry other than by authorized persons is trespassing. The police will be called, and trespassers will be in the hands of the police, not GFCACA officials.
The District would like to remind all citizens to follow these three important rabies prevention guidelines:
1. Vaccinate your pets
2. Report all exposures to animals (usualy bites and scratches) to your doctor and the local health department.
3. Enjoy wildlife from a distance - don't feed or encourage wild animals such as raccoons, skunks or foxes to visit your premises.
