Calling all First Colony Neighbors!

*** We don't go to houses for pick up unless notified. ***

PORCH is a volunteer-led, grassroots hunger relief organization that addresses food insecurity.  It helps to ensure that local food pantries are stocked with items most needed each month.  Recently, the PORCH Chapter in Williamsburg has been supporting local food pantries such as Williamsburg House of Mercy, FISH and Grove Christian Outreach Center.

I am happy to report that our neighborhood collected 780 pounds for Grove Christian Outreach last month! Now that's amazing. Let's keep the momentum going. June's food drive will be for the Williamsburg House of Mercy.

HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN DO!

Please place non-perishable food or hygiene items on your porch (or end of driveway) on the morning of Monday, June 9.  Please do this by 9AM.

The Williamsburg PORCH Chapter Leader has personally reached out the Williamsburg House of Mercy and these are the items that are needed the most at this time:

• Any non perishable food items
• Cereal
• Potato Products (boxed/pouch mashed or scalloped potato mix, canned potatoes)
• Jelly
• Canned/Dried Fruits
• Microwavable Meal Cups
• Cups of Ramen Noodles
• Peanut Butter/Cheese Crackers
• Cups of Macaroni and cheese

If you plan to donate, please let me know as we can't go to every PORCH in the neighborhood checking for donations.  We will come collect your donations if you post below in the comments or if you email: firstcolonyporch@gmail.com

PLEASE LET ME KNOW in your comment or email if you prefer we pick up the donation at the end of the driveway or porch, etc. along with your address.  Also, you can let us know if you plan to donate monthly.

For those of you who prefer to drop off the donation yourself (rather than having us come to your porch), you may go to the First Colony Park Picnic Pavilion anytime on June 9th from 8AM to 11AM.
