Calling all First Colony Neighbors!

It's that time again. It's time for PORCH. This occurs on the second Monday of every month. Please read more for details.
*** We don't go to houses for pick up unless notified. ***

PORCH is a volunteer-led, grassroots hunger relief organization that addresses food insecurity.  It helps to ensure that local food pantries are stocked with items most needed each month.  Recently, the PORCH Chapter in Williamsburg has been supporting local food pantries such as the Williamsburg House of Mercy, FISH and Grove Christian Outreach Center.

This month’s food drive will be for FISH.

HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN DO!

Please place non-perishable food or hygiene items on your porch (or end of driveway) on the morning of the second Monday of the month.  Please do this by 9AM.

Here is the list of needed items for FISH. All nonperishables are welcome, but here is their list of requests:

• Cold Cereals (especially “kids" sweet cereals)
  
• Canned Soups (chicken noodle, tomato)
• Tomato products (diced, sauce, etc.)
  
• Brownie mix, cake mix, icing
  
• Pancake Mix / Syrup
  
• Canned Chicken, Tuna & Beef Stew
  
• Peanut butter and Jelly
  
• Canned Vegetables (peas, carrots, green beans, corn)
  
• Canned fruit (peaches, pears, fruit cocktail)
  
• Rice (1lb. bags & 2lb. bags)
  

We kindly ask that you treat our clients with dignity and respect when donating. No open or expired food, please. No used items.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW in your email if you prefer we pick up the donation at the end of the driveway or porch, etc., along with your address.  Also, you can let us know if you plan to donate monthly.

For those of you who prefer to drop off the donation yourself (rather than having us come to your porch), you may go to the First Colony Park Picnic Pavilion the second Monday of the month between 8AM and 10:15AM.
